February 6 HW

Brandt Summary- In Sponsors of Literacy, Deborah Brandt talks about how the way people are raised affects their writing and literary skills. She gives us many different examples and stories of people from all different backgrounds and explains how their lifestyles affected how they go about writing.

1) A literacy sponsor is someone who influences how we become literate, whether it is a person or a institution. The characteristics of a literacy sponsor is that they are rich and knowledgeable.

3) They misappropriate their literacy lessons because they don't take into consideration that the students are from different backgrounds and don't have the same access to technology.

4) I think when he talks about the term "stratified" she is referring to status levels and by stakes she is referring to what is at risk

AEI- Growing up my primary sponsors were my mom, dad, and teachers at school, and friends. They taught me to be respectful and to treat others how I want to be treated. I feel as if I had access to anything I wanted to when it came to literacies.

Brandt reflection-  I liked how he gave us many different details and examples about how the way people are raised affects how they go about writing.
